btw does anybody like my new location…i just broke in and im rummaging through the folders…

yes now give everyone in this thread their decision now or we will cut u!!! JK!!! lol…

not just their decision…their acceptance!

HA HA HA, very clever burtonboarder!

ruh ruh ruh…

are we pulling another all nighter? i have to read half of “a brave new world” and haven’t even started yet. would SOOO rather read some heinlein. alas.

no no no. i have yet to catch up on my sleep since i pulled my last one… yet again…1:30am is only 2 hours away…damn it!!

hahah remy, get some sleep. it’ll calm and you can check in the morning. man since i got that email from Cornell about engineers decisions coming out later, I’m a bit discouraged. i actually don’t believe that. everywhere i saw on Cornell documents, it said that decisions would be out at the very end of April and early May on to June and early July. Yet they’re definitely coming out. I think it might take a little longer for the engineers, but probably approximately a full 10 business days or so. Probably not less. This just means longer torture for us.

Wow - this thread took a little breather tonight, eh? :-p

Yep, everyone stayed up late last night. :)

Ahh…I wish I could fall asleep…My oscillating fan broke - if I don’t have my fan on, I can not sleep one wink.

Luckily CC doesn’t break :-D

I am just curious, do you think Cornell admission will make any difference between community college and regular university (like University of California)? I think the latter is much more competitive right? At least that’s how I feel. Ucla is very competitive and challenging, and it’s really hard to get A’s.

They might. I think a 3.7 at a competitive university would look just as good (if not better) than a 4.0 at a CC. I think what really matters though, especially with ILR, is your essay. 3.7-4.0 range will make you competitive, but what will make you stand out are the essays and even applicable extra curriculars.

fanofnapolean:

you go to ucla???

yeah im pretty sure it plays a considerable factor

i have transferred into a top 30 school and a lot of fellow transfers coming from CC’s struggle to maintain their high gpa’s…i know of many who were in the 3.7-4.0 range at CC and have dropped down to anywhere from gpa’s of 2.0 to 3.4

also cornell is notorious for being a very challenging school; i’ve heard many times people refer to cornell as the easiest ivy to get into and the hardest one to stay in…if admissions if aware of this I’m sure coming from a good four-year school makes them more certain that you can handle the workload at cornell with similar success

What matters the most in my opinion is the ESSAY for the contract colleges like CALS, ILR, and Etc. I was just accepted as a sophomore transfer for fall 09 and I come from an out of state community college with no agreement with Cornell. You have to show them that you fit very well into their college. That is the most important factor in my opinion, the essay and GPA. I dont think they care much about where you come from, but how you grow as a person and how Cornell will ultimately help you and what you can bring to the campus.
