last years was like a week before the spring apps were due

Ironicallyunsure, what is the tentative date and where did you find it? Is this for ILR?

Well, I hadn’t any idea this thread was here. Good find, good find.

it was early november and i didn’t ask about a specific college, sorry.

okay thanks ironicallyunsure. Has everybody fulfilled all of ILR’s preqrec’s? Such as the writing comp, history, stats, and econ. If you have not will this hinder your chances for admission?

welll as far as TFN’s question is concerned, i hadnt completed 3 prereq courses… so instead of denying me, they deferred me and recommended i take those courses in my deferred semester so i’ll transfer as a junior. it worked out well :]

thanks brandNew70x7, it sure did! So was that the main reason why you did not get accepted first shot?

What is the difference between CAS and CALS?

CAS = college of arts and sciences, CALS = college of agriculture and life sciences

Im applying
Age:20
HS GPA: 2.3
CC GPA(50.5 units): 3.89
SAT: Not submitting
EC: Professional model ( Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie, Macys, etc), Hospital volunteer and Make-a-wish volunteer
URM: Yes

Because I do not have the full year of bioogy prereq I will be applying for the school of Hotel Admin.

Good luck Everyone!!

well i WAS accepted, as i don’t have to apply again. i’ll just be going in the spring rather than the fall. but yeah, it probably had something to do with why they offered me a spring spot rather than a fall spot as they were 100% limited…

I mean If I want to go to Bio(premed) what school is better?

either one will prepare you for it, so you need to see what the different perspectives and mission statements of each college is and decide which one you’d be happier in. both schools will still let you graduate with a cornell degree and you’ll be ready for med school regardless, so pick based on where you would be happier.

also van chowder, the hotel school really likes when you have related ECs and if you’ve had experience in the hotel/travel/tourism industry.

can these threads ever inspire someone to apply to the school therefore lowering the admissions rate and making it harder for you to get in?

i’m sure that’s happened before to people who didn’t think about transferring, but then realized that it was completely possible as long as they applied.

yeah, everything is possible, as long as you go to that one step forward. so if u are interested in cornell, i suggest that you do your homework and apply :). Best of Luck!

hey everybody

so ive got a problem…

i’m applying for transfer to cornell cas but i have a B- in a course for my major. every other grade in my transcript is either A or A-. i currently attend a top 35 university (according to USWNR). do you guys think the adcom will be able to overlook it? or should i send in a letter to explain it. it happened in my first semester. and i really picked myself up the next semester.

but im worried since CAS admission is cutthroat and i think this may put me at a hugeee disadvantage.

can anyone help? :/

i’m in a similar, if not worse, situation. call up a transfer advisor who can tell you what to do. you never know, there was someone admitted for fall 09 who had a F on their transcript.

if i’m missing out on one of the requirements for CALS biological sciences…
would it be bad? i won’t have my calculus 2 done but i’ll have all others.
