Who's applying for Spring transfer 10'-Cornell?

…lol

so i have a question actually. last year, i didn’t send in that secondary school report form thing, but i sent in my high school transcript and school profile, because the cornell website says we only need those. do we need that form to be filled out or are the transcript/profile enough?

I guess according to the application checklist you don’t, but I wouldn’t skimp on any forms, just in case. I was lucky enough that college started JUST after my guidance counselor arrived back at the high school to prepare for the school year, so I got to meet up with her and get everything done right then and there. Otherwise, you could probably ask electronically to have everything done.

I know I’ve been out for a while. I wonder how many people on this thread still remember me =X

Anyway, I’ve been following along here and there. This is the final stretch for those of us who still haven’t submitted our apps. Good luck to all! Ian said that the 10/1 deadline is rather ‘tentative’ - verbatim, ‘to get things going.’ This means you should still submit your application and prof. recs by 10/1, but don’t worry too much if the midterm report isn’t in until later. Decisions should be out at the regular time.

Once more, good luck to all!

hey viola

by “the regular time,” do you mean the first week of November?
or probably the middle of November or even in December?? :/

waiting until November 1st will be hard enough…I don’t think I can wait until the middle of November let alone December

does cornell accept transfer students who have only had one semester of study at another university?

how were you guys’ midterm grades? Mine wasn’t that great…not straight A’s…5 A’s and a B+ and a B…And these are the real midterm grades so the profs didn’t go easy on me…I hope Cornell will consider how many classes I have and how busy I am with taking Organic Chem, bio, and etc…but I’m still worried…i wanna get in…

well my midterm grades range from A+ to B+ …i’m waiting on my last midterm grade, organic chem. i’m having orgo exam on monday so that would be my last one. my B+ is for bio…and that’s the only b in my midterm. hopefully i would get an A in my orgo exam

How do you guys have your mid term reports. When does school start for you guys? Mines starts sept 8th.

i have As thus far and i’m anticipating they will be straight As, maybe 1 A-. and violaaaa good to see you back!!! if you need help with anything at all, as always, PM or facebook me. and we probably won’t hear back until december, at the earliest late november, but i sincerely doubt that that will be the case. i think i’m going to call up cornell on monday about this ridiculous form so i know if i need to go crazy on my high school guidance counselor and ask him to do it immediately (the high school is closed monday and i need to mail things on wednesday!!!). i also just noticed 2 mistakes on my application but i submitted it already so i guess there goes that. ps i freak out about everything so… i’m sorry lol.

rebel, no. cornell’s website states that you should complete a year before applying. a

I have a B+ althou we don’t have the + and - system. It’s just A or B. She just gave a B+ to make it look better for college. But my Spanish teacher didn’t…how many classes are you guys taking this semester? Taking 7 classes at once to meet their requirement was a mistake…this is getting a toll on me

My school started like two months ago. We’re in the south

My school started a week and a half ago…lol…
Though the chem class I’m taking at Brown has its first midterm Oct 9. I suppose I could start gathering midterm grades immediately after that.

Azuzephyr… r u from Brown??? if ur at Brown then why u wana go to Cornell?? not saying that Brown is better than Cornell but Brown is already an excellent university and has an outstanding program.

i’m taking 6 classes in semester to meet their requirement too
bio II
bio II lab
orgo I
orgo I lab
calc I
english writting II
and i’m doing a research as well as volunteer so yea…that’s kinda a lot
but i’m doing my best to get the best grade as i can…

i won’t have all the requirement…that kinda sucks
i won’t have calc 2 done
i hope i get in !!!

they won’t go easy on you just cause you have a rough schedule, so if you can, i would really drop one of those and focus on getting high grades

I’m missing Chem 2 and the “recommended” Physics 2 with labs. To be fair, I have an entire semester and summer to make these up before I TRULY become a junior.

I’m not from Brown, I’m from the Rhode Island School of Design (art school). But, Brown is our sister school, and we are allowed to take a FEW classes here and there if the class can fit us in and it doesn’t conflict with our studio hours.

what college r u applying to ?? and will you be applying as a sophomore or a junior?? i’m starting my sophomore now and i don’t have any physics yet and i’m missing calc 2

CALS for animal sciences (pre-vet).

I called admissions about the whole applying as a sophomore or junior, turns out they decide that part FOR you, depending on how many credits they predict you’ll be able to transfer. I think, to be a sophomore, you have a max of 40 credit hours and no more, otherwise you transfer as a junior, of which you can transfer a max of 60 credit hours. I’m in the first semester of my sophomore year; however, I have a ton of AP’s, with all transferable credits save for Physics E&M…but then I have a ton of art credits, so I don’t know if those will transfer. Up to admissions. I kind of want to be put as a junior, because I’d like to get out of grad school before 27, haha.

I’m so busy that it is ridiculous. I have to have EVERYTHING done and mailed by Wednesday…

You’re not alone, Jim. I’m in the same boat.

i just need to send out a few more things, but the important parts are in already. just need to figure out that ridiculous high school thing. will the commonapp website tell us when cornell has printed our apps? it says downloaded right now.
