Hey guys,

I'm going to be applying to Haas for next fall semester and was wondering who will be doing the same?

Post our stats?

I just submitted application for Haas

Hahahaha people probably want to keep their stats secret to keep the competition unaware. Either that or we’re the only ones applying.

Good luck everyone. Let the most qualified applicant get in. ;)

Five months. So long :(

What are you qualifications werz2013?

I’m applying for Haas and so are about 3 other people in my Calc 1 class.

Conducting more research!

@bomerr

Pretty much my entire Calc class is applying for Haas too. That competition!

I think my extracurricular activities is a strong point in my application.

Okay this just freaked me out and I’m now I’m even more worried.

Ya more research. I wanna see where I stand. Can you get into details about your ECs. Maybe PM. I’ll tell you what mine are.

I’m not worried unless I get a B in my calc final next week. The 3 other people who I have talked to don’t seem like competitive because their personal statements seemed weak. They ranged from bad english (international student) to completely generic / impersonal to finally slightly good on one essay but complete beggar asking for admissions in the other 2.

This will be the longest 5 months ever… And yup, many of us are too competitive to post stats! Maybe after the supplemental, people will start posting them.

Or once we know our fall grades. That’ll have a big impact on GPA.

All of the people that I know are applying to Haas are more GPA based and less well-rounded.

@bomerr I can’t private message yet as I don’t have 15 posts.

Maybe those are the people who don’t get in lol.

Essays play a significant part of the Haas decision process from what advisors have been telling me.

My brethren! What’s up?
I’m in the same boat as you guys: I applied to Haas too! That being said, I wish the best of luck to everyone here! Do you guys have any clue to what’s the prompt for the Haas essay that we get next month? What’s everyones career interest (other than “financewiz”)? Feel free to message me, or whatever, I’m new to College Confidential. Good luck with the finals! Hopefully hear from you all soon.
Sincerely,
MORPHEUS

This was last year’s prompt:

“For Berkeley-Haas, there are four principles that, taken together, sharply define us relative to other business schools. As you reflect on these principles (Confidence without Attitude, Question the Status Quo, Students Always, Beyond Yourself) which one would you say you need to work on or see as a potential area for personal growth and improvement? Why?”

I hear in the previous years it was simple which principle you identify most with. So we’ll see which version we get this year.

I want to be involved in the financial markets. Not yet sure what area specifically (equity research, investment management, repurchase agreements dealings, etc.). Definitely not investment banking/trading/wealth management/risk management, though.

@bomerr I heard that too! Personally, I feel that prompt would be more challenging.

Been waiting 3-years for this. I was completely freaking out on my personal statement because I knew it was a pivotal part of the HAAS app. I understand that most applicants will have outstanding GPA’s in the 3.84-4.0 range, so the PS and extraCR’s will definitely play a major role in decisions. Been visiting this website every night since the release of the app.

We’ve made it this far, I hope to see you ALL at HAAS. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!
