And what state/region of the country are you from?
I'm from Wisconsin, and I'm applying early decision to Muhlenberg. My application should be in by the first week of November.

I'm asking this partially to see if there's any else out there who isn't from the PA/NY/NJ area, and also to ask if geographic location has any bearing in their considerations?

OH! And another question: I received the common app for Muhlenberg in the mail today. Is it a habit of them to send the app to people who show interest, or do they do this for people who have made very strong and clear gestures of interest in the school? (Either way, it was very considerate and I enjoyed receiving it!)

My daughter visited this summer and plans to apply and she, too, has gotten the application mailed to her, as well as a bunch of other brochures and stuff. We live in Maryland.
From your username, I take it you are an actor. My older daughter graduated from NYU Tisch with a BFA in drama in May and had also applied to/auditioned for Muhlenberg and really loved the school. In the end, she chose a BFA, but Muhlenberg was so wonderful that it made her decision a tough one.

Being from a state other than NJ, PA, NY is a PLUS. Wisconsin is certainly a plus. Anecdotal stories I’ve heard suggest that admissions will invest more in those who show interest AND potential to contribute to the school.

ED is absolutely the way to go if you have identified Muhlenberg as your clear first choice. They take a huge majority of their freshman class from the ED applications. I don’t know what the policy is for the Theater Department in terms of auditions but I am sure they have provisions for all that. Being from the Midwest will be in your favor. Interviewing is important too. If you can’t get to campus, make an attempt to interview with your regional representative. This school, more than most, seems to truly value getting to “know” the person applying and is most interested in those they feel can contribute to the campus community. Best of luck to you!

Sorry to be late to the thread, but my daughter graduated a year ago and as you can see, we are from the Chicago area. As others have said, showing interest in the school is key; if you have not visited the school by now, try to do so this fall.

My uneducated guess is that most of the out-of-region students are there for the theatre program since it is so well known and respected. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Good luck retrodreamer11, sweetsoundamusic, and NotMamaRose’s daughter!
I’ve applied, visited, interviewed a second time, and auditioned, and am now anxiously awaiting a reply!
I hope you all get an acceptance!
