@finalchild Awwwwwwwww poor D! :((((((((

Mine hasn’t changed and I’m getting so worried. If I can’t get into NYU, I’ll have to stay in Arizona and attend the U of A (something I really don’t want to do).

kempster, stay classy. You’re going to need humor at NYU. Sorry if your sensitivities were ignited.

@insanemom. Lucky you. Congrats, you’re going through this with your last child. I’m just starting with child #1 and I’m ready to use your user name. It’s been a journey.

@finalchild, if this theory holds true and your D is indeed accepted to LSP, will she attend nYU? Are there other offers still on the table or is NYU her first choice?
@muf123, lol. This is my 5th(!) go around at this. From experience I can tell I that the old adage, it’s not where u start but where u finish, Is absolutely true. None of my other kids graduated from the school they started, yet they’re all successful. That being said, if my S who’s going through or now doesn’t get into his first choice, he’ll, we’ll, be extremely disappointed even though it has only a 9% acceptance rate. Thusly name, insane mom! Brew, first I tried helicopter mom, taken. Then tried crazy mom, taken!

Insanemom, great question. Probably similar to other folks, NYU is the most “controversial” potential option and very much caught in a family ambivalence bubble. Our D visited and was surprised how much she loved it, after thinking she would prefer Barnard (which she did not). Hard to tell if she loved the school or the Village or both. Parents very concerned about cost, ability to focus, fitting in with a pretty sophisticated crowd, etc, etc, and now we could have this LSP thing to deal with. I can’t say it’s her #1 because we have so many questions about it. She does have some other good options, with maybe a couple more to come, so we’ll see. NYU, to me, feels very much like a very high-risk/high reward proposition (and one that is extremely expensive to boot).

Finalchild, congrats in your Ds other good choices, and like us, we’re waiting on a few more notifications. I’ve heard both sides of the NYU story. Either it’s overpriced, or its awesome. From what I’ve heard,from the LSP program she will transfer after two years to her school that she originally applied to and will have her NYU diploma, but IMHO , unless its her number one choice and she couldn’t see herself anywhere else, I would look hard at her other options, especially Barnard!! Good luck.

My friend’s kid went through the LSP program then onto CAS. She is now in her first year of law school at Georgetown. She’s very happy she went that route.

Is there any way to tell what major we originally applied for? I am almost positive I applied for a different major that what is listed on Albert. Does a major change have anything to do with admission? This whole theory is driving me insane

YAY. So excited that my status changed, I don’t exactly know when it changed though. My program also changed to LSP, so I’m a little discouraged as I applied originally to Gallatin, but oh well.

No Change on FA status, but application date changed. Has anyone notice the application date on their application status page changed to 4/1/2013? Should that be interpreted as rejected?

@psulikely I’m not sure about the date change…mine didn’t change, but I also got the FA status change. It might not have anything to do with your decision. Just guessing, but possibly it’s when they looked at your application/made a decision? But who knows. I wouldn’t look too much into it if I were you, then you’ll be driving yourself crazy with all the little details.

My son’s info has never changed-I mean it looks like nothing was ever done on his app. His app date still reflects from the end of sept. and FA never changed. His audition went very well. The auditor kept him for a while. Could it be because he auditioned in feb that this is taking so long to change?

i applied in january… no change yet

Guys, for those who did not change yet, does it say yet “Select Aid Year to View.” Because mine says that on the top, and I’m not sure if it was always there. I don’t have the 2014 Award Access not Available (yet).

J03421. That’s exactly what my S’s says. I’ve been checking since I read about it in here. So I don’t know what it said before that. It definitely doesn’t say anything about 2014. Not to sound cocky, but this should be a match. He already got into even better ranked schools. April 1st can’t come fast enough. It seems as though time stopped!!

mines says

Financial Aid

Select Aid Year to View

There is no financial aid information found.

Yeah, my son’s is the same thing. Just nothing. I would like to know how many people who auditioned for Tisch have seen a change in FA status. I can’t help but think that they don’t send their stuff over until everyone has auditioned, which would cause a delay, I would think.

@gigrighta
I applie to tisch acting and mine changed
I am not sure if I trust the theory though… The Ed ii data is strong but also limited
I don’t wanna just believe it then get rejected and be more upset than I would have been…
I sent my FA stuff January 30 (cause USC deadline was feb 1)
And I auditioned on February 20

The thing I want to know is, did anyone get in without it changing? And likewise, did anyone get rejected with it changed?
