I can't believe they put it on the first day.
Along with Psych (self study like the majority of y'all here whoo)

and the day after is art history. YAYY like kill me? hahhh

but chem worries me the most #$^!# since teacher was not good at all this year. That class might as well be a self-study except with a bit more grade-motivation.. ugh. I've heard the curve is super generous though! This girl said she didn't study and still got a four last year. What topics should I concentrate on? I've been practicing the free responses online -- the equilibrium questions mostly, but idk what else to hit... is thermo very important? because I feel lost on that subject especially (along with myriad of others, but..!)

same heree…T_T I’m gonna fail so bad.
I think you should focus on equilibrium/kinetics/thermo/electro/gases & intermolecular forces. If you know how to do these problems, you should be good for the free response. Idk if thermo is that important. Usually, I only see like 1 FR question on it…maybe that’s just me. O.o
Personally, i think the FR is a lot easier than the MC. & try to do as many FR practice as possible.
for the MC, you can go onto AP central and do the released exams. Then, see what you got wrong and maybe you’ll focus on those topics.

The multiple choice is just basic chem concepts. You should know how to do most of those. The first free response will most likely be an equilibrium problem, there’ll be one about writing chemical equations, and the test will probably cover two of the three: electrochem/thermo/kinetics.

Read over all the notes you took in class? If you don’t know stuff by now I don’t really know how you can cram it in haha

I always struggled with question 4 last year (where you have to predict the reaction). And even though collegeboard said there wasn’t any organic chemistry, it seems to always popup, especially on number 4 so study that if you don’t know it. Due to extenuating circumstances, I had to take the FRQ twice last year (regular and late test) and I remember VESPR shapes on there (pretty easy) but on the late test there was a FRQ about like “can you pour this chemical down the sink?” and I had no clue so study the labs I’d say.

I have gotten 63/75 on multiple choice for both PR practice tests but I am freaking out about free response >.<

Do you think the curves will be harsher this year, since there is no guessing penalty on the MC?

@seancarpenter
You’re pretty much set for a 5 with MC score that high… All you’ll need is probably 60% on the FR to get a definite 5.
@batfan
Yes, the curve is predicted to go up by 2%
5: 72%
4: 62%
3: 52%
…
