Why are clubs and Greek life so hard to join at UCLA?

One of the most frustrating is that people talk about how you should join clubs or join Greek life if you want to make friends, yet these organizations are so hard to join at UCLA. I am a senior now who applied to like 30 different clubs in the past year, and got rejected from all of them. I also rushed three separate times and got denied bids from even the “lower” tier chapters every cycle. I don’t know how someone is supposed to make friends at the school when student organizations are so difficult to join.

One doesn’t need to be in clubs to make friends. You meet kids in dorms or class.

It’s not easy for sure. I’m sorry about your experience but you’ll have a great education and hopefully your next phase will be better.

Some like HS more than college. Some like college more. Some struggle at both.

But life has many stages and with an open mind, you’ll hit your stride.

Good luck
