i ask this because i go to a large public school and my counselor is counselor for last names that start with H-O, she is in charge of over 400 kids. To have her write a recommendation i had to fill out a folder which basically outlined a letter she would write for me and i could have put any EC/sport/award and she would have put it in the letter because she doesnt know me at all. Colleges have to know at big schools counselors dont really know everyone and probably use the same protocol my counselor does to write recs…
<p>Make an appoinment to see her so that she can put a place to the name.It will show her that you care about the process , in addition you will have an opportunity to show her your best self and provide her with any additional information not included in your file.</p>
<p>oh im not talking about mine, i filled out my form and she wrote me a nice letter. I am just saying it doesnt reflect anything she personally witnessed and i believe it is like this at many other schools. I'm just wondering how colleges can give these any credibility when they know some counselors are in charge of 200 seniors and cant get to know everyone</p>
