Scholarships are extremely needy for lot of us. Is it possible for us to take the Saturday Exam at my school or else where? I understand that there are no minimum and maximum number of attempts for SAT. If this is the case, why not a student be allowed to take both Wednesday/Saturday PSAT Tests? Since we all know how serious is the Merit scholarship opportunities are, I believe by making us try for PSAT once in Junior year creates incredible amount of stress and anxiety. Can someone help me with the situation here?

I was wondering the same thing.

Because you either make it or you don't. Unlike the SAT, you can't belch out money and weasel your way into your desired score range.

Few good scholarships are available for NM anyway. Many other non-NM scholarships are available. So don't worry about it.

IMO the whole point of the PSAT is to level the playing field - take it once and be done. That way they know everyone had a basically equal opportunity, rather than the SAT and ACT where who knows how many tries went into that 32 or whatever.

^Yea but your point is under the assumption that everyone is on an equal playing field to begin with. Clearly, there are thousands of less fortunate students who cannot afford to take pricey test prep courses and buy their way to a 220+ PSAT score. With that said, I don't believe the PSAT should be offered more than once to each student. Take it, if you do well that's great, and if you don't, tough luck, but you'll be fine in the long run.

You should be able to take the PSAT as many times as you want, because it's supposed to be practice. The NMSQT isn't practice, so it's fair only taking it once.

I like that it's only once, because that means that I'm not competing with people who are on their 4th try and have basically bought themselves a good score...

Then again I'm extremely good at these kinds of tests and I get poor grades so I can't stand getting my only advantage cut into, haha.

with your Wednesday exam? Has any one done it?
