Why are you going to college?
I'm confused and lost now. Why?
I've been working so hard on tests, gpa, application, complicated financial aid forms... Why?
I'm curious about your answers. Thank you.
I'm working hard on finding mine.

Some things are easier with a college degree under your belt. Not just the prestige of a school name helping you get a job, but also the knowledge that you learn which can be applicable to real world situations (and help with your job).

Sounds complicated, so I’ll tell you my reason (funnily enough, I mentioned it in my “what matters to you and why” essay). I’ve decided my purpose in life is to leave this world a significantly better place than I found it. I’ve decided to do so by working in international law/law in foreign countries to establish global unity and greater equality. A degree in law will help me immensely so first regular college then law school. That’s why I go to school. So I can learn something that will help me make this world better.

College is really a time to grow. I know many a student who had a horrible time socially in HS, who started fresh in college and is now doing great. My B is like this.

Apart from that, if you have academic interests college is the best place to go.

I’m going to college because I feel like high school taught me so much about life, and how to be independent and knowledgeable and not ignorant. College will do that for me on a much bigger scale. It’s about an education that creates values and the ability to make decisions about life that I care about.

Obviously college is where you’re going to pursue your academic interests and discover the career you want to pursue, so a big part of why anyone goes is to invest in his/her future. But on another level, a big part of why i want to go is to have a good personal experience and learn about myself as I mature and develop. I had a rough time in high school, so college is much like a second chance for me.
