I like Brown. Let’s get a list started of all the reasons why we love Brown. I officially ban Byerly from coming on this thread and telling us that Brown sucks.

everyone is chillaxed

providence is so cool

i would say open curriculum, but i applied into engineering…

I really like the color brown. I associate it with one of my best friends, who is kind of a hippie, in a 21st century kind of way. She wears brown a lot, which is a hard color to wear. Only really cool people can pull off brown. Therefore, people who go to Brown are really cool!

hehe I like how brown is usually symbolic of plain, but Brown is this really awesome and exciting place...it's like a little shield from the prestige whores

anyway,
i want to add applauding professors when they give good lectures (this invariably makes them turn red)
students who create their own concentrations
and the ivy film festival

the ivy film festival is a pretty cool event that happens every year at brown

two brown students founded it and it began as an inter-ivy film competition just three years ago

now it has grown substantially, it's really well funded and attended and gets submissions from all over the world. there are usually big hollywood producers, directors, and actors there that do the judging, give talks on campus, and run workships for the film makers. there are usually a couple of big premieres on campus that weekend too (in addition to the student films).

last year adrien brody was there to receive an award, and there were talks by people like wes craven, brett ratner, and harvey pekar. they also premiered "mean girls".

it's in the perfect location, a mix of both city and suburb. brown is close enough to a big city to take advantage of the resources and yet, far away enough not to be completely immersed and overwhelmed by the city.

they're just as smart, but from the "personalities" of the ppl on this board, it seems that Brunonians and prospective students just have a different mindset. correct me if I'm wrong.
