Why Clark?

Decision time approaches and my son and I are trying to gather as much information on various schools as possible. What is it that people love or don't love about Clark? In particular, I'd love to have some feedback about Clark's International Studies Stream as well as on its Geography Department and International Relations program. Also, just how bad is Worcester? My son has grown up in a large city so he knows about muggings and pickpockets, but violent crime is relatively rare in our country. He wants to go to college in the US for a liberal arts education and a campus experience, not for the attractions of a large city (though I know everyone loves Boston, myself included!). Thanks in advance for your help.

I want to know the same thing. My son is interested in either Political Science or International Development and the IS stream. Any feedback would be much appreciated as we are trying to make a decision. He visited campus this past weekend and loved it but we wanted some feedback about those programs of study.

Bumping this. Any insight into the advantages and disadvantages of attending Clark would be appreciated.

I don’t know anything about the international studies stream, and very little about the geography department.

In fact, the only thing I know about the geography department is that they have this thing called the HERO program which is a summer research opportunity for undegrads. A professor from the geography department came into my differential equations class to talk about, because he said math majors generally do very well in the program.

As for how bad worcester is, its already been discussed a number of times, and because I don’t feel like getting into again, I will point you to this thread. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/clark-university/1052304-security-around-campus.html
