This is the question asked in the application and I am stuck. What should I write except for the fact that its is a great college. I don't have any other specific reason.

maybe you shouldnt apply

Say you like toothpaste.

Lol ok seriously. You got to ask yourself "why am I applying to a small liberal arts school?"

If you still can't find out, I'll thrown in a couple of things that I personally find appealing about LAs:

Small in size

Known for good undergrad experience

Prepares students well for jobs in the market

In terms of specifics about Colgate, I can't give you any. You can perhaps research what the school is best known for, and write about that.

I would strongly advise finding specific courses or professors to talk about in the department you plan on studying in. Talk about how those courses (or professors) are much more aligned with your interests than are the ones at your present university. Also, the general answers with the "Why [University]?" are: 1. Academics 2. Size, Location 3. Social Scene 4. Access To Specific Extra Curriculars. Good Luck.

Because they share the name of a toothpaste!!!

"What should I write except for the fact that its is a great college."

what makes it such a great college to YOU? visualize yourself there... what would you be doing with your time? what classes would you take? take some time to really think about it and reflect upon what you want from college.
