I got 1 1990 on the SAT. I got really mad at myself for not making 2000, but well, life goes on.

Anyways, I got only one wrong in the Writing section, and a 10 essay (really though I did better) adding to 750.

I see my math section, and I got 3 wrong while omitting 3, giving a 670. I really had a hard time believing that 3 wrong and three omitted (all hard questions, 1 medium) would lower 130 points. I got like 16 wrong on writing, (and three omitted) and still got a 570.

So 3 wrong and 3 omitted in math around 100 points off but 16 wrong and 3 omitted (3 times as bad) = around 200 points off?

Yeah, I am in the same boat buddy, and is the reason why I took the ACT instead. I got a 1980, 730 CR, 640 W, and 610 math. I was, and still am, really ****ed. If I remember correctly, the last SAT had almost no curve for math. I missed a few math questions due to burnout and thought I would at least get 680+. Nope. Btw, the SAT scores on a curve that deviates from 10-50 pts at the top. So missing one might yield a 770, another a 720. When your score is lower there is less deviation and it adjusts by less, thus explaining your score. I hope I was of help. Still a great score!!!

Nah, man. I just read a sh** ton in my free time. Makes it come easier to me.
You also need to keep in mind that when you get about 1800-2000 on the SAT, missing anywhere to 3-5 questions on a section can adjust your score by 100 pts. Getting a higher score is just a “Who has the biggest C**k” contest. You have kids out there that are willing to devote hours out of their week and day to study, which makes it harder for the kids who take it cold. Also keep in mind that the SAT is not a huge indicator of your future life/college/academic success. Just get a high enough score is the trick. OR, take the ACT which I did last month.
