Why did my letter of reccs. Only send to some schools?

So on naviance I chose the option send to all schools and all future schools. Now when I click on the button that shows me what schools they were sent to, two are missing from both reccomenders! It’s winter break and deadlines are approaching so I’m very worried! Is it only saying that because the schools need to process it?

I can’t imagine how anyone on CC can explain missing letters. When school is back in session a d you have confirmed that some letters have not arrived, make an appointment with your guidance counselor to help you resolve the problem. It may be that your letters have not processed through Naviance yet. Please do not keep checking! That will mess up your time off. Relax! Enjoy! There is probably very little you can do until January.

Please email or call Naviance to check that for you.

I believe that Naviance sends material automatically right before the deadline of each college. So it doesn’t send everything at the same time to all schools. That’s how the high school of my kids use Naviance. Probably because that way documents can be changed in case necessary. Any way, you need to check with your advisor.

When school restarts next week, go directly to guidance and speak to someone there.

As I understand it, Naviance doesn’t send letters automatically. You must “Request” for each college. You GC can see which college you requested, and press a button to send letters and transcripts.

My DS school’s GC told them before the break, “Request everything before 12/29 noon, and I’ll login at that time and send everything.” Apparent it only takes a few minutes to send all requested materials, so not a big burden on GS’s holiday schedule.

So check with your GC and make sure she/he check Naviance once before the new year.

It’s entirely possible, of course that the College Placement office at your school won’t reopen until after New Years. It’s a big holiday week, even for guidance counselors. The deadlines have been in place for ages; you cut it close at your own risk.
