Why did you

choose boston university over wherever else you got accepted?
and for those that applied. why did you apply? what was the draw?

i don't completely understand what you're asking but i chose bu because i want to experience city life (i love boston and i want to get out of my small-ish suburban town), it has a good business program, and i want to meet different kinds of people. i was accepted EDI so the other schools i was accepted to don't really matter. basically, it's an awesome school :)

i know how you feel!!!!! i want to live in the city also seeing how im from po-dunk ohio.

was that the number 1 draw of bu for you?

I haven't chosen to attend BU yet..(hopefully that choice will come in April for me!) since I havent gotten in yet, but the reason I applied was becaue BU was a large, private institution with what seemed like a good international relations program (with lots of lectures, and clubs, and opportunities to supplement that education) It was also right dead center in a city which was really the only type of location I applied to. Finally, it was far enough away from home that I could be fully independent but close enough so that when I did want to come home for vacations etc it wouldn't be too much of a hassle. Also, I've visited friends there multiple times so I was quite comfortable with the surroundings and events and I'm sure that comfort drew me closer to the university.

Lot of IR majors. One of the most popular.

my top 3 schools that i was accepted to were boston u, northwestern, and u chicago.

i visited u chicago and the other student who were in the admitted class of 2010 ed me off. they were stuck up, snobby, and i wanted to * nearly everyone i met out. the current students were really nice, but overall, the people ****ed me off. second, i hate chicago. it was so dirty, and ugly, and bland, and lifeless to me AND i hated their public transportation.

northwestern's nearest city was chicago so there was no way in hell i could've went there ... i knew i wouldn't be happy.

i chose bu because i fell in love with it. everyone i've talked to/met is super nice. my professors are awesome. i have so many choices if i decide to switch colleges or change majors ... the washington internship program is really good. and i love boston, unlike chicago.

Boston is an amazing city with a lot of heart. One thing I love about Boston is the huge amount of pride its citizens have in the city. BU is right at the center of the city as well. Located on the Charles River, it is right around the corner from Fenway Park. Newbury Street is a 5-10 minute walk and the T is right outside to bring you anywhere you want. Some of my best memories are pouring out into the streets after a 9th inning come-back Red Sox win. The atmosphere is electric.

Even if you didn't fit in at BU (which I would find hard to believe), one fifth of the some 600,000 Bostonians are college students, so there's someone for everyone. Plus there is Cambridge right across the river with more colleges.

Basically as long as you aren't looking for a gated campus with rolling meadows, BU will be a good fit.

Oftentimes I wish it had more of a campus, but then I remember I spent the first 18 years of my life living in a town with two pizza places and nothing else. Not even a gas station.

The only reason I wouldn't go to BU is because of it's crazy costs. I think with housing is comes out to $47,000 a year or something, which is pretty crazy. Not that it doesn't have a good reputation, but it isn't exactly an Ivy league school. With over 20,000 undergrads, I don't see why they have to charge so much!

BU is wicked awesome.
