Why didn't my UC acceptance letter come through my personal email?

I just realized I got accepted into UCR since I opened my applicant portal (even got Regent’s scholarship! yay). But now i’m just wondering, is there a reason why this didn’t forward to my email? I checked all my details and it’s clearly listed in my applicant portal what my email address is. I ideally wanted to forward emails of my acceptance letters to my parents (idk guess i kinda want them to feel the suspense of opening an acceptance/rejection email too lol). Not in my spam either, or perhaps it just takes letters a lil bit more time to go through personal emails?

Not really a big deal though, since l bookmarked all the applicant portals of the UCs I applied to and can easily access them. Apart from UCR, I applied to 4 other UCs as a transfer from a CCC. Wish me luck! Hope everyone else is receiving good news from their dream schools!

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but decisions usually just go on the portal; I don’t think I’ve heard of an instance where someone got an acceptance email from a UC. If anything, they get an email saying “Welcome to XYZ School” that details the next steps.

@throwingestaways I got acceptance emails from both UCR and UCSC so far. I did get the portal update before the email for both of them though. I got the UCR email the day after being admitted through the portal and the UCSC email about 18 hours after the portal update.

ah i see. perhaps i just need to wait a bit longer. thank you!

they usually tell you that there is an update in the portal through email.

My UCR portal also was the only place where I was notified of my acceptance. I was also worried since UCSC actually sent me an acceptance email. But it’s normal honestly I also experienced likewise the same issue.

They don’t always send an email.
