According to amazon.com, the REA, and Barrons which seem to be the only two review books for the AP on the site are really horrible because they are long and there are things that you dont even have to know. Can anyone tell me what books are actually HELPFUL and GOOD? I would want this from someone who got a 5 or 4 on the AP exam. 3's are okay but i would want one from a person who did EXCELLENT on it

Princeton review is coming out with a prep book for AP ES fairly soon. Normally they are good.

I HATE THE BARRON'S BOOK!

You'd be better off with a textbook - like the one by Tyler Miller.

I got a 4 on the test and I read over Barron's the night before. We also has 2 practice tests in class in the week before and had some preparation. Most of the information in Barron's is definitely stuff you DON'T need to know. Barons in evil and completely useless. My friend used REA and also got a 4, though I'm not sure how much she read through it. I have good experience with REA in US History, though, so you might want to check that one out.

Sadly, there isn't a good review book out for this test. Believe me, I've looked. You're going to need to rely on your textbook and your teacher to prepare you. That's basically what I did. Good luck!

The Miller book comes with a CD that has chapter outlines, which I found at 9:30 pm the night before the exam, right before I was about to go to sleep. I didn't use them because it was late enough that there was no point; I just studied Miller. I got a 5 btw...good luck, environmental science is AWESOME!

None of the review books will be any good until the test finally stabilizes. It changes too much every year for the publishers of the review books to anticipate.

I liked/loved the REA book, and the Amazing guide has a good vocab list. I also read the Barron's book, which had too much detail, but if you can learn it all, you'll definitely get a five.
