I realized that many Canadians rank U of T higher than McGill. While this might be true, I also realized that Americans know McGill more than U of T.
How come?

Is it mainly because Montreal has some political issues with Canadian government?

Do you think Quebec government would continuously be underfunded? Perhaps as long as it has an issue with the Canadian government?

I’m bit concerned that McGill might not regain its old reputation due to its financial problems. Do you personally think that McGill will soon recover?

Do you personally feel that University of Toronto will continuously thrieve and eventually become the best school in Canada?

While I think that I need to further research on the political issues, I would like to get your opinions on any of the questions above. Thank you!!!

LOL. Where did you get the idea that McGill is anywhere near UofT in terms of quality and prestige (in Canada, anyways)? In Canada: UofT>Waterloo>Queens>UBC>McGill.

Canadians should prefer Emory, but they are Canadian, so I dont think they are willing to venture that far south in the USA and brave the warm weather.

I think the OP is alluding to the fact that in the U.S., more people seem to talk about McGill than the University of Toronto. In New England, where I live, this is definitely true.

Canada doesnt have warm weather Johnathan, it has ice and hockey players, they claim otherwise to make people believe it is a real country. I must open your eyes to this blatent conspiracy.

I was born in Canada. (Ottawa, the capital, since you probably didn't know that). I spend every summer and part of winter here. (OH MY GOD! YES, WINTER!)

It's not even that much colder during the year than it is in New England. It's just as warm as it is there in the summer.

So seriously... stop. You're just embarassing yourself.

McGill has been THE Canadian university for the last two centuries. I has expeienced a decline in Canada due to the decline of the english community in Quebec, but its international reputation is still much better than any school in Ontario.

McGill has actually made a recovery in recent years.

I'm not very familiar with UT, but isn't having 63,000 students vs something around 20,000 at McGill a disadvatage? McGill as well has a very nice setting and campus.

Biz schools in canda are so randomly ranked, I've seen York, Queens, and a few others ranked #1 on many ranking systems but NEVER McGill. At the undergrad level McGill is great, but not at all for an MBA. From what I gather MBA are best in the US by far...

Rotman (U of T),I beleive, is more highly ranked than Deshautels (McGill) in general
