why do most LAC grads go straight on to grad schools?

why do they do that? is it because employers usually find an LAC degree unsuitable for employment, or that an LAC degree is not specialised enough? I'm from singapore, and I'm not very sure of going to an LAC if that's a general requirement, since I'd have to spend an extra year or two away from home on top of the four years.

Have you looked at PhD production rates? HYPM produce more PhDs than most LACs.

The main difference between LACs and universities is that LACs lack most professional majors (e.g. nursing, education, forestry, architecture, social work), which usually don't require graduate work. Students in other majors would not be disadvantaged at a LAC. Carleton geology majors have all of the career possibilities of Columbia geology majors, for example.
