Applications and documents submitted almost 2 weeks ago. Transcript submitted online. Mail document tracker show they received the mail 8 days ago. But they said they are matching the documents now. Anyone has similar situation?

They get 25,000+ applications to which transcripts need to be matched and validated by a human being before the status is changed to Complete, Ready for Review. The amount of applications they have to process is the overriding factor in determining how long it takes, and two weeks ago would put your application submission right around the end of october, so they were getting swamped then. As long as everything was received, andor postmarked on, or before 11/1, then you would be in the priority enrollment period.

After your app is marked as complete, it won’t change any earlier than 12/11@5pm, when they begin to release admissions decisions.

Balthezar: Understood that they have so many documents need to be matched. Just wondering, if the transcripts come in electronically, what they need to do? My school sent transcripts to several schools at same time. The other school also has simliar applications(20000+), but transcript siting there for one week. :)

Well, if by electronically, you mean via email, with a PDF attachment, that pdf has to be either scanned into a file (possibly a database table) to be displayable online, if thats the way they do things, or printed out, and deposited into a paper file that is then available for review by the adcom. Either way, it takes manual intervention, and that takes time.

Balthezar : are you still a HS sutdents? seems you know much about college admissions?

why do you care so much how they do it? if you got it all in by the deadline then you met the deadline. worry more about whether you will get admitted!

worry about do I met the PRI deadline. If still missing something by the end of NOV. is there any chance to get the decision on Dec. 11

I’m a parent of a HS Senior, and I work in Information Technology, so I know a little bit about downloads and how they work, and Drusba taught me everything else about UIUC Admissions ;)

Balthezar: I am a parent of a HS Senior too, and I work in Information Technology too, so I know more about documents transfer:) Many school send transcripts and other documents electronically, something like ConnectEdu …(Web service), they send student’s information like name, DOB , HS school along with pdf transcript file. Suppose it should be very easy to match. Some college seems match the files 2-3days after HS sent out. But UIUC seems … pretty slow…
But UIUC match SAT score very fast, immediately after it received from CB. That’s why I posted this thread:)

my documents were not matched past the deadline so i called them up and had them check if my transcripts had arrived. they did and updated the online status right away. but then I called them in april and I am an international student so my transcripts take a while to process.

Does Illinois receive the SAT online? I sent my scores in on like the 31st, and so I don’t think they received them in time for priority if they get them by mail…

Go through the order process again and see if it says “Electronic” on the order line right before payment.

I believe they accept SAT OCT sacore for priority

I was in a similar situation, I had sent my transcript etc… out to the school and nothing was never received besides test scores. I recently checked my status today and everything was in, it took a long time but I’m really excited that my stuff was sent.

Coolbrezze: How many days it took?

^
About 3-5weeks

took 2 weeks for me (coolbrezze’s situation)

3 weeks ago, everything in. but so far, status unchanged.
