Why does the dining hall open at 10:30am on Sunday?

What I'm curious about is why the caf is open at 8am on Saturdays and 11am on Sundays.

I work nights on weekends, and I get off right around 8am... it's nice to be able to have breakfast before going to bed. I usually skip breakfast on Sundays. No point in staying up just for a bowl of cereal and a cup of milk. :(

I'm sorry that you have to wait an extra couple of hours to fill your insatiable appetite. It really must kill you...gosh, I just can't gain that Freshman 15.

our dining halls open at 9 on the weekends i think, and they're pretty empty till after 11. Really around 12 they start filling up, especially on Sundays when the people finish with Church.

who is up before 11 on a weekend.

brunch is the best meal of the bloody week, Belgian Waffles

Lol, the question is not why they open at 10:30 (or 11 here), but why they close at 1:30. Sleeping through brunch is the real bummer! :-P

ABCB, they're closed until 10:30 because there's little demand for food before then. There's little demand because people are usually out late partying or hanging out or something. Perhaps you should try some late night socializing? Seriously, it's college. Hell, if you don't like people, then use weekends to stay up late studying. (joy!)

who is up before 11 on a weekend.

I'm up at 9 AM every weekend...

ABCB- I'm with you. My body clock just wakes me up at 8:30 every morning even if I've been out the night before. Unfortunately, our dining halls/places aren't open until brunch hours either AND our gym isn't open until noon so I just keep cereal in my room and eat that.

Everyones right...there really aren't enough of us early risers to make it worthwhile to open the dining halls earlier...that's life.

BUT just wanted to let you know that I'm with you!

atmjunk, that's probably because they figure most people go to church on Sunday mornings. I know that my campus (because it's Methodist-based school) is relatively empty on Sunday mornings...

I wake up earlier (like 7 am) when I've partied than when I haven't, but maybe that's just me...

My university does that too, serving it as brunch instead.
I think it's because most people don't bother getting up early on the weekend.

Here the dining halls open at 9 on the weekends
If you walk in before 11 the staff looks at you like you have ten heads. Very few people are there before 11 and the crowds don't show up until noon or 12:30, at the earliest.
Basically they open later because there's little demand. Get some snacky stuff for your room and you'll live

At least your dining halls are OPEN IN THE MORNINGS. Sheesh. -_-* Mine only serve dinner.

Mine doesn't even serve dinner on Sunday.

who parties on Saturday?! haha, at least out here at USC, Saturday night is usually fairly tame, with the exception of a home football game, when after-parties abound. Thursday is a huge party night, and Friday less so with some sprinklings of parties.

and i've never been awake early enough on weekends to establish when the dining hall opens...all i know is that once i get up at 11:00ish (which is early by the standards out here), it's open and ready to go with waffles and eggs...mmmm...

Wow, thanks for assuming you know anything about me from one topic. Don't worry, I definitely know my way around downtown and the party scene. The fact that I'm up at 9:30 has nothing to do with that. Everyone telling me it's because there's not enough people - I have only one thing to say to you: DUH. This is a venting topic, nothing more. :)

Maybe because Saturday night doesn't end until 4am. ;-)

Since I also wake up fairly automatically, I like to eat and then go back to sleep. But I like to ensure that my body has the food in me to repair whatever damage needs to be repaired.
