Why doesn't Iowa State ask for Extracurriculars in their app?

<p>So yesterday I was filling out Iowa State's app and to my surprise.... they don't ask about your EC's. It seems like they only admit you based on:</p>

<p>-ACT Composite
-ACT Math
-ACT English
-GPA
-Class rank (if applicable).</p>

<p>Why doesn't Iowa State want your extracurriculars/involvement in school? How can they get a good sense of who you are without them? Am I not seeing something I'm supposed to?</p>

<p>They only look at academics for admission, you are not missing anything.</p>

<p>There are quite a few schools that base admission on academics only. However, if you are applying for some scholarships and/or Honors College they will want a full accounting of your ec’s.</p>

<p>DD applied to Nebraska, Iowa State, Alabama and a couple of more and they all just asked for academics info for general admission.</p>
