Why don't you want to live in the South?

Overall, I see what people mean about the negative aspects of the south (I do see a few pick-up trucks at school with the Confederate flag on the back -___-) but there are always exceptions.

My school is a really good school; a few people always end up at Ivy and Ivy+ schools, and the majority of those who don’t go to UGA or Georgia Tech. (Surprised no one has mentioned Georgia Tech as a plus point-one of the best engineering schools in the country?)

It’s not that bad, though. I mean, I just endure things like the strong Christian environment and the high heat (marching band practice two hours everyday after school in 98 degree weather? kill me) and it’s not like I go around hating those things all the time.

However, some places though, the very small towns, I would not live in if you paid me.

^^^ I’m from GA and yes, it is too hot.

I like all the seasons, I’m from Illinois so we get everything. Also I wouldnt because of hurricanes. It is nice to go down south for vacation tho!:)

Southern Style Food is the only reason I enjoy the south. Otherwise, the accents sound ■■■■■■■■, sweet tea is too powerful, it’s hot and humid, and I hate that. I sweat standing outside for 5 minutes. I love and miss the North. I plan to go to college in the North. I like cold weather, and rain, and there’s lots of things to do in the North that entertain me as opposed to the south, where all people do is hunt, fish, drink, and go to the movies…lolol. I actually live in the most Liberal part of the south (or at least one of the) and it’s very northern-style, but there’s just nothing to do, and 10 minutes drive out of town is just terrible.

^ You’d hate my drive, cause it takes me about 15-25 mins to get to school.

It’s too ****ing H O T! And uggh…the south, gross.

It’s not hot ALL the time. It does snow in Athens sometimes.

Check my location: Minnesota. The average high in January in Athens is 51. Therefore, it is hot in Athens all the time. 51 in January is too hot.

51 is hot?! 51 is boot-wearin, heat in the car cranked up to HOT weather.

In January 51 is really hot. Try weeks at a time where it doesn’t get above 0 and an average high in the teens. And it can’t snow in 51 degree weather which is horrible.

51 is not that cold. In NY people wear a jacket, or a cardigan. 51 isn’t cold, but that’s too hot for January. If 51 is cold imagine 21 degree weather.

I hate minnesota. The summers are too cold for me. Not warm enough to go swimming out…but it’s nice that it’s not like an oven.

See: I’m from Dubai.

Ya’ll wouldn’t like Christmas down here. It’s in the 60’s to low 80’s. You could go to the beach for Christmas.

^I would hate that. I love white Christmases. Snow just makes it feel more…special? Idk.

Snow? *** is snow? The closest we’ve ever gotten was ice fallin out the sky 10 years ago.

■■■■■, you’ve been deprived. Snow is DA BOMB.

Life would shut down if it ever snowed.

98 degrees isn’t that bad, why not try some 111 degrees, which is average in the summer where I live…I guess I live in the South that is SoCal. :]

SoCal is worse than the South. It’s ALWAYS hot there, isn’t it?

Not if you live in certain areas…I just live in a place where even the city includes the word “desert” and is enclosed in a circle of mountains (stupid rain shadows)…
