Why don't you want to live in the South?

^ Dude. Try white guys + black girls. We have a history of bad relations. Remember Thomas Jefferson?

Yeah… that wasn’t pleasant. I have seen many white guy-black girl combos at my school though. Then again, my school is in the ghetto, where it’s pretty even between blacks and whites.

^^Black women and Asian men get screwed over a lot in relationships. :frowning: Those are the two most undesired groups when it comes to dating.

^ Yeah we get screwed. Well, I don’t but I’m trying to change that. :)

^hahahahahahahahaha

I would like to see a black woman date an asian man or vice versa

I must’ve seen the entire world apparently. I’ve seen that before as well.

The South is the best. Show me where you can get a good chicken-fried steak with biscuits, gravy, and sweet tea in the North. I am beginning to heavily prefer Duke and Vanderbilt over Cornell and Princeton for the sole reason that the former two are in the South.

I’m actually seriously considering going to school in the south and I live in California: UF, UGA, Clemson, UNC, and maybe Wake Forest. Texas is also one of my top choices if you consider that to be the south.

It gets humid, but I don’t really mind that. Iprefer that over 100 degrees and dry Santa Ana winds. The people are really nice there and southern belles are goregous. As a die hard football fan, I’d fit right in. I’m not terribly conservative, but I’m fine being around them as long as they don’t press anti-environmental politics on me. Places in NC, SC, and GA are pretty nice. Lots of lakes and trees. Oh, and did I mention that the women are hot?

I do wish they had some real authentic Mexican food though. I’ll take 2 fish tacos w/ black beans and rice over a chicken fried steak w/ biscuts and gravy any day. At least Texas has TexMex. That stuff is pretty good. I love BBQ and Mexican food, so it’s a good mix.

Haha… I love our Mexican food. It’s really good. SC has a pretty large hispanic population and so therefor… We’re getting some really good restauraunts… It isn’t like Cali or Texas… but its still pretty good.

And bbq. I love bbq. Soooo much good bbq here.

But you’re considering Clemson? That’s so weird to me… Then again… My dad went to USC for law school, so Clemson is not an option for me. haha

But for the humidity part… It SUCKS. I’ve been in the Egyptian desert before and didn’t think it was hot at all because of lack of humidity. Southern humidity sucks. In the summer when it’s 108 and you have blazingly high humidity levels that make it feel hotter… Ugh. We’re finally getting out of the 90’s now that it’s September…

i am biased because i am a northerner that just moved to the south a few years ago… but most of the kids at my high school have provincial mindsets and live in insular bubbles. they have this inexplicable need to be plastic and exactly alike, actually kinda sad. almost zero diversity of thought compared to the north…

^^^ Pick UGA or UF. All people do there is party. It’s great.

I know what you mean about considering Clemson. When I took my visit there, a USC grad was there with his daughter that was looking at Clemson and he just seemed ****ed. He brought up last year’s game when the tour guide stated talking about Clemson football. I have never considered USC because I guess I like the smaller college town feel.

When I was there, it was back in late July during that big East Coast heat wave. The heat index was 112 and we were walking around outside most of the time. I knid of felt like going running to be honest.

I had some Mexican food in Virginia. It was kinda bad. The fish was cod. I like mahi mahi. And the salsa was corn based. ***?! They couldn’t use tomato based salsa?

Why do you think I’m considering those schools and love big football schools? hehe. Football, hot chicks, warm weather, and partying. College is going to be great.

Good Mexican food isn’t hard to come by in Texas. You just have to know where you look ;). Even our barbecue chains have delicious food, so I can’t even begin to describe how incredible our home-cooked barbecue/burgers/steaks are.

^^ I agree on everything except the chicks. I’m going there for the guys. If chicks happen, it happens. :)

^It makes me laugh when you inject quips about your sexuality into conversations :)

-Heat
-Some loud people(less so here)
-Heat
-I <3 New England
-A combo of the above.
-ULTRA Conservative.

There’s nothing really wrong w/ the south its just not for me.

^^ It does happen. :)

The South is too hot. Seriously, I live in the Midwest, and it hits like 85 with hella humidity and pretty much die. Couldn’t do the South. And I love snow too much to go a winter without it.

Everybody has the same excuses haha it’s too hot really? Wimps

According to my roommate from Atlanta, it’s much less humid there than it was here in Rhode Island, and thus less awful.

I think it would be cool to be all Faulknerian and stuff and be a farmer in the South. Maybe Mississippi? I’d have to come back to Maine every once in a while though because I love snow.
