Why is drinking so acceptable at college?

Jumping in on page 7... New Jersey has an interesting law regarding drinking and driving. The level of the offense is upgraded one step if you are caught within 1000 feet of a school. Oh, and the law specifies it doesn't matter if no school kids or around or school is not in session (ie, the offense could occur at 2 am Sunday). I was digging around the Drew University website and they mention that the entire campus is considered to be within this zone, ie within 1000 feet of a school. I am not sure if this is because there is a daycare on campus or a nearby elementary school. The university mentions that the entire campus is within a school zone for purposes of the law, but they don't spell out the implications, ie that an offense that might get you probabtion elsewhere could land you in state prison there.

Think VA is tough on drinking--just wait

barrons - what is up in VA? It never occurred to me that VA would be so.....what can I say without offending......so.......red necky???? I continue to be shocked by Virginians.

I think it is probably better to just keep em locked up- but the physical castration works for me.
As I learned on CSI, chemical castration just takes their ability away, not their desire, they still can rape with objects.

VA is a very conservative state except for the area within 25 miles of DC. Luckily that does not bother me much.

Rileydog - Virginia is an ex-Confederate, conservative, Southern state. The liberal zone that barrons mentioned is at best 33% of the state's population.

Because they can.
And because it's easy.
