For the record, apparently she is/was seriously considering Harvard…

"That is sooooo not classy, and not Yale. "

raises monocle, upturns nose, adjusts top hat

Some news publications/sites are still saying she’s attending Yale in the fall:

@TheGovernment: I’m sorry, I just told my belief, actually it was even printed in a local newspaper that she was admitted (Newspaper in Switzerland!).

Maybe it’s wrong, I don’t know.

also @The Government, perhaps you are right. HOWEVER, I’m sure that the information about Emma – i.e. whether she accepted applied, was accepted, and/or is matriculating – is kept in very tight secrecy. You do not and, purely logically, CANNOT have access to the info about whether or not Emma applied and is coming. Anyone in the admissions office who has access to said information would be LEGALLY not allowed to tell anyone else.

The only way we can know for sure is when she announces.

That said, I don’t doubt the story about the autograph…

OK, but when you know people in admissions… sometimes you hear things that others don’t…

i full out loled at the username hannahmontana
not in a mean way, it just made me chuckle…

i wonder if admissions officers considered her academic merits or just said “wow, it’s emma watson!” and let her in. i’d love to read her personal essay. “i’m emma watson and once upon a time, i was on the set of harry potter, making a multi-million $$ movie. it changed my life. a lot. the end.”

@ fields. Think about it. In filling out her application, she has the single best Extracurriculars anyone could ever fill out.

Activity: Harry Potter series
Years in High School: 9,10,11,12
Positions Held: Umm, I starred alonside Daniel Radcliffe
Significance : have YOU starred in multiple multi-million dollar movies? I don’t think so.

So yeah. I’m pretty sure no ADCOM would pass that up.

Why would a college reject Emma Watson? I don’t care what college it is.

^
Didn’t show serious interest in attending? Thought of application as a joke?

That makes very little sense that she didn’t get in. Her GCEs were basically as good as you can get, she obviously has better extracurriculars than any other college applicant, and clearly has a love for the humanities and would be one of the more enthusiastic students at the college. She wouldn’t get rejected anywhere.

I still don’t buy Brown over Yale just yet, given the fact that Yale’s humanities are still unparalleled and the school offers programs like Directed Studies. She doesn’t seem like a slacker to me in any sense of the word.

We seem to have a semi-reliable source saying she didn’t apply, though.

maybe she didn’t apply bc of the collective gawk-fest we had on campus when she visited.

Would this count as a reliable source?

No. 10char

We have a pretty reliable source saying she didn’t apply.

haha funny thing! I picked Yale over Brown too…and so did 4 other people I know.
Both are great schools…she probably picked Brown because its supposedly more “flexible” in its curriculum choices than Yale (READ: she doesn’t want to have to take the hardcore classes in math and science that Yale will require her to if she attends)

Probably because Yale isn’t all that much better than Brown, despite what prestige whores like to think.

And Yale graduates lose miserably to Brown graduates in the muktuk eating contest and ear pull.
