<p>No avatars and no sigs... we designed the forum to be lean and mean to give great performance under high loads and not bog down members with slow connections. (We also didn't want to overload members used to our old "bare bones" forum. Even this change is pretty dramatic.)</p>

yeah i think its a good idea to keep it as bare bones as possible; if we get too caught up in the avatars and signatures everything will become crowded and useless, and totally miss the point of CC: valuable information.

<p>1) a spell check feature
2) a separate forum for essays -- this is more important than #1</p>
