Why is Telebears trying to ruin my day?

My phase 2 appointment began today. I tried to enroll in a sociology course to fulfill my American Cultures requirement for the College of Letters and Science. After acting up a bit, Telebears told has essentially locked me out from doing anything. When I try to add this particular course, it gives me this message:

"You are unable to add this course because you have already enrolled in this section."

When I try to process any other transaction, it gives me this message:

"You are unable to add this course because

Transaction Cancelled

You already have a pending Tele-BEARS transaction in another browser window. You must CONFIRM or CANCEL that transaction before you can process another transaction. (If you simply close the other window without confirming or cancelling, you must wait at least 10 minutes before you can process another transaction.)
For best results, you should only have ONE Tele-BEARS window open at a time."

I have no clue what it means. I didn't hit the confirm button twice, I didn't open any other windows. I was actually pretty gentle with the whole system.

From what my list of classes states, I am not enlisted in this course, only in 3 other 4.0 unit courses. However, at the bottom of my list of classes, it says

"Total Units: 16.0"

Of course there's no way to get through on the phone or by email right now. It won't be the end of the world if I don't get into this class, but still...why Telebears? Why?

Anyone have any information about this? similar experiences?

Telebears tend to get really glitchy when a lot of people are on it, and since a lot of people have their phase II right now, it’s possible you were just on with a lot of other people. Wait until your open hours, the problems usually resolve themselves, and then if it’s still messed up call the school.

Also I’m convinced telebears just likes to see people cry…

This just happened to me. Has anyone run into/fixed this problem?

Yeah you must have clicked the refresh/back/forward button on your browser. I’ve run into the problem before, and it’s called “ghost units”. I just called the office of the registrar and they fixed it for me. But moving forward, you should never use any buttons on your browser when on telebears

Why do they still call it Telebears when the system has moved to the internet?

Telebears… ugh. O_o When I had problems with it a few weeks ago I went to Sproul Hall and the people there fixed it. The wait time can be super long though, but they take your phone number and text you when you reach the front of the line. It’s kind of a hassle, but they know how to fix everything.

Thanks sunshinejf! I reported the problem online, and before they got back to me, the problem cleared up by itself overnight.
