Why is this forum so quiet?

Hello, just wondering if anyone actually passes by this area other than me. It can't be that I am the Only person interested in applying to Middlebury...

Current students? Prospective students? Alumni? Somebody give me some guidance.. I don't know how good a chance I stand at Middlebury, but I dearly want to get accepted.

Take a look? My stats:

I will get good recs, and hopefully will write good essays :)

I'm also applying to places like Princeton (I dream.), Vassar, Wesleyan, Amherst.. but it seems like my chances are slim :( looking at all those people with fantastic profiles. *sigh what is one to do?

Be cautious as Middy has SO MANY internaltional applicants
due to its need blindness. sigh. Need blindness is a double side sword...
And yea, I passed through this forum and it is a bit unusual to see
it to be this quiet.... Does this mean fewer students are applying
to Middy now? Do we all have a better chance now... hmmm

yea I know.."Need Blind" hooked me on too, among many other things.
Actually many people in my school have not heard of Midd so perhaps the advertising hasn't gone too well. Maybe we all do have a better chance now. :) Well are you applying too? And international?

Yep... I have very similar stat as yours but I am from an over represented country-China... sigh...I am still not sure.... hope I will get into ED Swarth.... so I don't have to worry about....
Anyway, a lot of students in my school know Middy pretty well... Hard to get in, but not cutthroat I guess... AND... be confident for your chances @ all the schools. Though it is true that a lot of students here have fantastic profiles, CC tends to draw elite students anyway. Vassar has a lot of money for Intnl but is not need blind. Wesleyan, I believe, is need blind. Amherst and Princeton- rich enough, i think.

Good luck :-)

Thanks, good luck too.. :)

i applied there last year and got in. midd is awesome. it was my second choice school.

anyway, wesleyan is not need blind, but princeton is.

Actually, if you're from Singapore, Wesleyan could very well be need-blind. If admitted, the Freeman Asian Scholars program would more than amply supply your fin/aid needs:

http://www.wesleyan.edu/admission/international/freeman.html

heh, that is true, but the freeman scholarships are very very hard to get.

omg...middlebury rocks when it comes to aid!!!!..dis is soo trueeeeee

yup, need-blind doesn't mean that you get more money. it means that it's easier to get money.

middlebury rocksss!!!! (even though i'm not in middlebury. but i would as happily go there as well)
