Does Stanford require or just really want the level 2 math SAT II? I'm not nearly as strong in math as the humanities and I don't plan on going into anything at all math and science related. What is the point of sending in math SAT IIs if your SAT I math score is good enough?

"We strongly recommend that students taking the new SAT also take two SAT Subject Tests. We recommend Math Level 2 as one of these tests. For those students submitting scores only from the old SAT, we strongly recommend three SAT Subject Tests, one of which should be Math Level 2, or the former Math IIC."

It sounds like they really want it.

I'm preparing for my Math2C test for Nov. 2005, which is 2 months away. Since I'm applying to Stanford, I might as well get it out of the way so I don't have to worry about it anymore, provided that my scores are in the 650-750 range.

Stanford did mention that you should take Math 2C if your background has prepared you for it. Otherwise, don't waste your time and money on a test if you don't have the background or confidence for it. Focus your energies on the subjects that interest you the most.

I took the new SAT and got a 740 in math. I took the Level 1 Math SAT II and got a 600! Now I'm kinda scared to take the Level 2. But I have "adequate background" on the surface for it; I'm in AP Calculus this year, but I'm really bad at math! I'd really just rather send in my US Hist 800 and Literature 780 for my SAT IIs.
