Daughter says she is studying for final,s and the dining hall is barely open anymore, extremely limited??? What are we paying for??? She was told by them that they have to prepare for the summer kids so they cannot provide many meals now for current students. NOT acceptable and unhealthy!! She was also warned about not drinking the water there because of chlorine???

Sounds like they are serving rant de jour…

I care about my child’s health. Sorry.

To save food waste, universities consolidate dining hall services and set limited meal hours since students leave as soon as finals are over.
If your daughter is as outraged as you are she should contact the Dean of Students.

Fast days.

“I care about my child’s health.”

Could have fooled me. I bet she’s a nervous wreck. (She also lies to you to get attention.)

Dining hall hours are the same as always, and they won’t change until after finals. In fact many food venues on campus are extending their hours this week.

A few days ago the DC Water and Sewer Authority sent out an alert saying there was a higher than normal level of chlorine in the water in certain parts of the northwest quadrant of the city. This only affected 2 buildings at AU, neither of which was on main campus, and it was cleaned up in a few hours. Nothing to worry about.

Source: I’m a current student who ate in the dining hall not 20 minutes ago.

She lied again. Poor kid.

You AU guys are the most entertaining read on all of CC.

Washington water authority sent out a warning for a day and the water’s still a bit like a swimming pool, but it’s not dangerous. They flush it every year for about a month.

Thank you for your valuable input, iamsirjoshua. As Daniel Patrick Moynihan put it, "Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts.” Your clarity certainly puts into perspective all of cadmiumred’s rants over the last year.

Meanwhile are children are starving and being deliberately poisoned, and failing their exams as a result, and will end up as drug-addicted, homeless criminals, all thanks to AU.

This is really nothing to fuss about. You exaggerate too much. Student’s aren’t starving and gasping for breath here, in fact its actually the oppossite.

The chlorine water thing lasted for less than 4 hours! Dehydrate much? It was actually a problem with the whole NW DC area, not that AU added too much chlorine or something similar. All students received instant updates when it occurred and alerts when it finished. No fret ;)
