One person’s pros could be another person’s cons… what is he looking for in a school?

Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using CC

What stage of the application process is he in? He can’t debate until he is accepted.

Pros: it’s a really good fit for some kids - not too large, not too small, with academic rigor mixed witht a lot of music
Cons: it’s not a good fit for others: too small, in a small town

People get out of CC what they put in . . . if you can tell us more about your kid you will get back info about Oberlin’s fitness for your child.

Hey guys, I’m an international hoping to end my procrastination right on 15th of January and send in my application to Oberlin.

I’d like to know about aspects of the school that the website doesn’t seem to have though.

What’s the creative writing scene like at Oberlin? I understand that there’s a creative writing major. Is the creative writing scene restricted to students of the major or is it more democratic? (Writing is my life, but I don’t intend to major in it)

I understand that the philosophy department has produced many prominent philosophers over the course of the decades, but what’s the state of its top program phd-placement in recent years?
