Why so few Political Sci Classes?

I thought U-M is very advanced/reputatable in the area of political science. Or is that just for graduate students? Coz I saw the LSA course catalog, there's only around 50 political science courses. Others, such as math, has over 100, PSYCH over 100, and Public Policy a puny 2 courses.

<a href="http://www.lsa.umich.edu/cg/cg_subjectlist.aspx?termArray=f_06_1610&cgtype=ug&allsections=true%5B/url%5D">http://www.lsa.umich.edu/cg/cg_subjectlist.aspx?termArray=f_06_1610&cgtype=ug&allsections=true</a></p>

how many would you expect it to have? I guess what im trying to say is mybe you should compare that to other schools, in which i would venture to say the poly sci class number average is probably half that.

Most top Poli-Sci programs only offer 25-30 or so classes at any point in time. Michigan's 40+ is actually quite impressive.

yea the political science department has a lot of courses...and much more variety...at my local university, most of the classes are just based on US government and such but at Michigan there are things like "The Arab Israeli Conflict" and have many more foreign policy related classes which I love

same with foreign language department...at my local uni theres like 5 languages....5!!!! When I found that out i was in shock cause i thought many of them were like UM which has SOOO many languages to be taught here

Also...most advanced polsci course are only offered once a year, so its possible you only saw half. The courses offered in the Fall aren't offered in the winter, and vice versa.
