Why So Serious? AP Test Fun

Why so serious? Screwing with the AP test graders part 2 | Facebook

1) In the middle of an essay randomly write the words "WHY SO SERIOUS?"
2) Draw a single line through what you just wrote
3) Continue with the essay as normal

It WILL NOT effect your score if you strike it out! Anything with a line through it is considered "not a part of the essay".

WHOO. im excited. i just wish they chose another phrase.
i think last years "THIS IS SPARTA" sounds funnier and more random.
are you guys gonna do this?

All this does is make the job of the readers harder, and demonstrate the immaturity of the students writing the essays.

Actually, the news articles about last year’s prank said that most of the readers enjoyed it, and it lightened the mood of the whole tedious grading process.

And I don’t think it’s immature, at least not in a bad way. It’s a harmless, simple way to bring some sense of human life to the world of AP tests. Maybe it’s playful, but it’s not childish.

Any readers want to comment?

its only immature if you overuse it.
saying 3 striked out words in an essay isnt going to make things harder to grade.
saying it every sentence is pushing it.
