i'm a high school senior with 3.9 uw, 33 ACT, and interested in business. i will apply to kelley as direct admit, but wondering what other colleges you suggest or consider 'gems'?

1ee304, why must you incessantly be a stupid, presumptuous pest? I've noticed you plaguing the board for quite some time with your idiocy/unmerited braggadocio. get your head out of your ass already, that stupid attitude of yours will get you nowhere. grow up.

@ DanDHSIrishGuy:

I'm appalled by some of your comments in this thread, as well. Who the hell are you to be speaking about IU's placement prospects in such a condescending way when you've likely never even set foot on our campus? It es me off to hear some kid who's still in high school bad mouth Kelley spouting unwarranted BS such as it being "nearly impossible" to get a job on Wall Street coming out of IU. We send plenty of very talented individuals to these banks for both summer and full-time positions. Furthermore, Kelley has a very solid alumni network on Wall Street that can easily be leveraged by those who want to do so in order to "get their foot in the door." So don't act link IU doesn't have its connections, and is some no-name school in East Bumble, Ohio that has never produced any successful alumni.

And I can GUARANTEE you that of the 60 odd students who got jobs on Wall Street, between 2-4 of them had family connections. Most manage to land their positions through sheer hard work.

Please, come back when you know more on the topic you're addressing. You're not even a STUDENT here, for crying out loud.

And by the by, consulting can't always be considered an adequate safety net for banking. Getting into the top consulting firms (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) can be just as difficult, if not moreso, than getting into most bulge bracket investment banks.

First, I don't realy take this form seriously I'm just king around and I realize that I say immature and stupid *. But the IBW is realy one of the better programs IU has as it places nearly all their members on Wall Street and is considered a target school for most banks, which is an amazing accomplishment compared to other target schools which on average cost about 10 grand more to attend. I must admit I do sometimes bad mouth Indiana Univ as a party school and one can say some of the students you see can be reflected upon my aforementioned statement and I have bad mouthed IU for its lack of diversity. but I have never bad mouthed the Kelley School of Business for being unqualified or not being one of the nations better undergraduate PUBLIC business schools and I have never bad mouthed the Investment Banking Workshop. I only have praise and admiration for the workshop and all it's members on their hard work in getting a position on Wall Street.

1ee, only the first post was addressing you. everything thereafter concerning the workshop, and badmouthing Kelley was addressed towards DanDHS.

For those interested in the Kelley School of Business' undergraduate placement statistics, they can be found here:
