Why X Advice

I already submitted several apps, so I'm just looking for reassurance or advice on my next apps.

All I did was establish what my few main academic goals are and research their specific programs, facilities, clubs, and professors (and their CVs) and mention them on my essay. I'd then connect them to how all those would help me fulfill my main academic goals. I also mentioned ideas on how I can contribute to those clubs, programs, etc. I didn't write any fancy prose; I just gave it to them straight (University X has Program A, and I'd like to use A so I can strive to be an A-ist).

Would this be a good way of explaining why that particular school? I'm a transfer student, btw. On the "Why X" essays, unless they told me how X would be a better fit than my current institution, I didn't really say how X would be a better fit -- and even on those that instructed to compare X with current school I didn't. I just mentioned the general things I'm looking for in a university that my current school doesn't have in my main CA essay, so I figured stating how X would better fit me would've sounded redundant and possibly bashing my current school.

I think it is a smart plan to avoid bashing your current college. But if your college doesn’t have something, some department, major, ec…then that is one of the more critical justifications for a transfer and there is nothing wrong with plainly saying so. Otherwise sounds like you are on the right track.
