Does anyone happen to know the quality of the wi-fi at the Northeastern University campus?
Amazing. You can get it off campus for like a quarter mile. No dead zones on campus. Good speed. We’re #8 nationally for most torrenting, fun fact.
Wired is amazing, but most don’t use it.
Gigabit wired connections. I think NEU also just finally added EduRoam, too, which is great for visiting other campuses and for people visiting from other schools.
Speeds vary. I’m on campus, so I’ll test mine right now.
Wireless: 70.58 down, 95.68 up.
Wired: 674.83 down, 25.89 up.
I think the most I’ve gotten is around 980 down wired. It’s pretty solid most of the time. Occasional downtime (usually no more than a few minutes) during heavy traffic hours.
More info re. EduRoam: if I’m at BU for a talk, I can logon to their Eduroam server with my NEU ID. Same thing when I’m visiting any other college that participates (all of these nice places: https://www.eduroam.us/institutions_list?title=university&field_peer_status_value=All&field_peer_service_type_value=All&field_peer_realms_value=)
