wierd?

do many people select a major and then go for a double minor? is it possible to do this and still graduate in 4 years? thanks

I don't know about that, but a lot of people think it's weird that there are no minors at my university. There are only majors.

^^ what university?

I think a lot of people do that, more than you'd think. One of my teachers double-majored (pol. sci. and public administration or something, easy to double these) AND double-minored, and still graduated in 4 years. It was a small school too.

I'm sort of doing that. I'm majoring in economics, minoring in political science, and getting a certificate in health policy. (I'm not sure if other schools have this, but a certificate program is something that's kinda between a major and minor, not as many requirements as a major, but more than a minor).

Double minor + major isn't much harder than double major (especially if it's a school that requires a senior thesis to complete a major), so I don't really see why you can't do it.

Michigan State University

I'm majoring in theatre, and kind of triple-minoring. I'm attempting a minor in history and a minor in business, though I don't think it will be possible for me to finish either in four years, because I am also taking some extra acting classes, and taking every costuming class offered at my school. I'm not sure if all the costuming classes actually add up to a minor, though.

However, I'm sure it would be possible to just do a major and two minors, and graduate in four years.

ok, thanks alot

"Michigan State University"

There's no minors at MSU?! No way, I definitely got accepted there, but I had no idea there were no minors. wow...

Yeah, one of my friends who's a junior told me there are no "minors". Definitely surprised me!

I'm not sure you'd still graduate in 4 years without taking 18 or 21 credit hours/semester or doing a summer session, but it may be possible. I'm doing a summer session in summer '08 and an internship in summer '09 so that I can graduate in December '09 with a major in English, a minor in Political Science and a certificate in Professional writing.
