WiFi on campus?

Just wondering, is there WiFi all over campus?

and at the Price Center food court, are we allowed to use our dining dollars?

you can't use dining dollars at price center unfortunately

and yes, wifi over a good majority of campus

ooo thanks. How do we access it, is there a certain passcode? Could I sit on some bench and use it?

You just need to register the device with the school. After that you can use it pretty much anywhere on campus.

you'll need an active UCSD account to register (ie, i'm an alum and my account is almost certainly defunct now, can't use it) ... visit acs.ucsd.edu for a map of the wireless coverage of campus.

I don't know why, but the whole concept of dining dollars strikes me as a Disneyland "Fun Bucks" type of deal.

Good at a select few stores, and only valid while you're at UCSD. Why not just use cold, hard, cash guys?

@anchor, because if you live on campus you get a certain amount of dining dollars (so why not use them) and when you "add on" dining dollars, you get a 20% bonus (ie: pay $100 get 120 dd).

Also, you HAVE to use it and if you don't by the end of the year, it all goes away. It's absurd that they keep raising the minimum amount of dining dollars you need to buy in order to live on campus..

yeah, but you can just go spend it on overpriced goodies at earl's place just like all the other students...

there's always earl's place, but it's such a waste to spend over $70 (dining dollars or not, that's still overpriced) on cheap kitchen appliances. i guess i'm too frugal for college.
