wii, xbox, or ps3???

okay, so i have been working hard this summer to save up alot of spending money for the upcoming year. time to burn some before school even starts. i enjoy video games but dont really have any preference for these 3 "newer" systems. i already have PS2 and absolutely love sports games (Madden, Live, FIFA). however, ppl tell me Wii is the best game system to have in college b/c its great for everyone. what do you guys think?

xbox360-live!We have all of them, and that's my sons favorite by far. On the other hand, he'll never do much better than a community college if he can't love it a little less.

You probably shouldn't get the ps3 because it's doing so poorly relative to the xbox 360 and the wii. Wii is more innovative but it has a lot of kiddy games and the graphics aren't as good, so it depends on what you want.

wii, duh! It's also the cheapest!

ps3 $100 price drop

xbox 360 currently, though eventually ps3 will be better as more games come out

Get an XBOX 360. It is set for a price drop (in reaction to PS3) and bottom line is Microsoft has bought out so many of good game companies so that the games that are released can only be played on the 360. Gears of War, The Halos, etc. On top of that, having an XBOX live (which is cheap and could prlly easily split the cos twith roommates) will be a nice chill thing to do on the weekends if you dont want to party.

Nintendo Wii is the cheapest but it has so much hype only because of its revolutionary senser motion playing style. But frankly, the graphics suck, there is no memory card, and the games honestly can not improve or can be that much more fun. They've really used up all the resources for motion sensing games.

Xbox 360.

Get the Wii. That's what alot of people seems to have.. which means more games are probably going to be released on it. I dunno, I would get it simply for Zelda The Twilight Princess (i dun have a gamecube either XP)and the awesome wiimote. haha. It also depends on which games you like though, if you like japanese games they tend to come out on wii or ps3. Ps3 isn't doing so well though...

^ here's the poll to prove the fact majority of the people (95000 people voted) own a wii.

wii360?

thats what i have at least, the wii and xbox 360 combo is awesome

Get a Wii, they are one of the best systems to have in your dorm. Everyone is going to want to come to your room to play it.

Xbo360's have an extremely high failure rate, so high that microsoft has extended their warranty for 360's to 3 years. They say that about 1 in every 3 xboxes die.

I have a wii, so did my roommate last semester. He had madden 07 for it, and it was so much fun. You would swing the remote to simulate a throw. I think sports games would be the most fun on a wii.

Old school N64. Super Smash Brothers and Mario Cart are all you need for hours upon hours of entertainment.

Depends. Either way, no PS3!

The Wii is pretty cool.

buy them all if you're high roller, everyone in college will be your best friends :D

I've played the Wii before and am not a huge fan... I'm more into traditional "sit down and play" video games (and I'm also lazy :D). So yeah, I'd go with the xbox or ps3... probably the ps3.

whatever you do...just don't play WoW

I never really saw anyone playing video games in my dorm last year with the exception of Guitar Hero on the PS2 and WoW. But even then, there weren't that many people playing.

If I were you, I'd hold off on buying a new system until you get to college and see if you actually use it. You might find that you'll have other things to do, extra-curiculars, parties, etc. Last year (my first year in college) I realized that I hardly watched TV anymore because I had better things to do.

But if you're dead set on getting a new system, I'd get the PS3, yeah it's more expensive, but it's got Blu-Ray, that alone would be a big selling point. Otherwise, just make sure that you have Guitar Hero and you'll be fine.

Well I own both the 360 and Wii, the Wii is more of a party system.

Although a good console, I am on my third 360.

Yeah, my 360 broke too. How do you send it to Microsoft so it can get repaired? Is it free to get it repaired?

Yeah its free, call the 1-800-4myxbox number, there are a bunch of options, choose the one where you can talk about your broken 360 and then ask for an agent. They will give you a code to write down, and then they will ship you a "coffin" for your 360.
