Will a "D+" that got replaced affect me a lot?

Hey guys I got a D+ in AP Calculus first semester. I dropped and took it at a local college where I got an A. My GC said that the grade I get in the college will replace my D+ GPA wise but colleges can still see the D. I want to go to UCSD, UC Davis, or UCSB. My UC gpa is 4.1-4.2ish with the replaced grade and I am taking a very rigorous course load. Will the D+ completely destroy my chances at these colleges (non-engineering).

Your GC is right. For the UC application, you have to report both the D+ and your replacement grade, but only the replacement grade will be calculated into your UC GPA.

If your UC GPA is 4.1-4.2, you are in good shape. Every one is human and every one is allowed a mistake. You were able to show that you did understand the material by getting that A.
