My GPA is 85, out of 100. I am not familiar at all with the weighted/unweighted GPA's out of 4.(I'm foreign) But the thing is, the highest GPA anyone in my school has is 94, nobody ever gets it over 95. So an 85 isnt as much low as it seems. At least I feel that way.
And if weight means how rigorous classes I have taken, I took the most rigorous classes possible.
I am only willing to go the US for college if I get into an ivy. So here is my question. If i manage to get a 2100+ on the sat and a few 750+s on the sat IIs, and have a decent EC profile, good essays and all, would I stand a chance at ivys? Or should I just not bother at all about these, since even if I ace the SATs and the essays, the 85 will kill my chances.

No, that’s what a class rank is for. Colleges look at your school “type” and the difficulty of your classes. They also often have their own GPA calculator. If they see you are 4% in your class then that’s good.

You are not doomed. I wouldn’t take this advice as a relief since I don’t know how international admins work. Work hard and good luck.

I dont know why your heart is set on the ivys. There are most likely 20 schools in the US better then any school in your county. Now obviously im American and i dont know where you are from, but even if you are english you have 2 colleges that are great and then it drops off from there. Look at other american colleges

For an international student an 85/100 is pretty much a dealbreaker. Because the international pool is even more competitive than the domestic pool, an international’s stats need to be even higer than a domestic applicant’s.
