I recently submitted my transfer application to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor for Spring I session.

Unfortunately and perhaps inevitably, I noticed a small mistake on one of my essays.
I realize the situation is far beyond my control, so I am not going to waste much time worrying about it, but how strongly do you think that will impact my application?

To be specific (and if you really must know), I replaced the phrase "Literature, Science, and the Arts" with "Language, Science, and the Arts", despite hours of review and critique.

I have an otherwise strong application that includes obligatory honors, legacy, meaningful work experience, ECs, volunteer hours, etc.

Think about it. If you were reading someone else’s essay, and it said “Language, Science, and the Arts,” would you stop and think “Hmm, should that say ‘literature’ instead of ‘language?’”

You better start looking into community colleges, sorry man.

Seriously not only will this literally have zero effect whatsoever on your admissions, but I think it’s safe to say that nobody will even notice that something is wrong. Advice for you: do not let yourself get worked up over something that is legitimately so minor and not even worth a second thought. The fact that you even made a thread about it is just WAY overreacting. Get used to a lot more things like this happening over the next 4 years, many that will be much worse.
