<p>I have applied to Duke, and wondered if my poor financial status would affect the decision of the admissions' counselors. I realize that Duke is need-blind; however, I have also heard that people who do not require financial aid have a better chance to get in. I hope that Duke is truly need blind, but I also wonder why they would shell out so much money to pay for my college when there are many more qualified candidates who may not require aid. <p>So the admissions office has no idea what your financial status is. All they see is your application, if you are accepted, then the financial aid office takes care of the rest.</p>
