Will Admissions expedite an RD decision for the sake of a scholarship?

My son has received an Army ROTC scholarship to Wake. However, he applied RD and won't get his admissions decision until the end of March. The deadline to accept the scholarship is Jan 17.

Has anyone ever heard of an RD applicant requesting and receiving an expedited RD decision?

For a variety of reasons, our family cannot switch this app from RD to ED.

Thanks.

I would imagine that this would indicate acceptance to Wake Forest. However, I would contact admissions, because this problem surely comes up every year with certain applicants.

Call the Admission’s Office after the New Year. While I cannot your question directly, I can tell you that they are very nice in both the admissions and the financial aid departments. (This is coming from a family with one “almost” Wake graduate, and one son who, sadly, did not have the stats to get in) We are on the lower socio-economic scale at Wake Forest, but have been treated like we have a building named after us! By all means, call, and good luck!
