Will an A- decrease my chances??????????????

Ok, this may be a stupid question, but I don't know the answer. Will having an A- rather than a solid A decrease my chances of getting into UCLA or Berkeley? I got almost all A-'s but they were in Honors and AP classes too...but... I even got an A- in Varsity Basketball...which is really really really annoying!!! I was wondering if I should try and argue with my coach to raise it to an A or if it even matters... all of my grades were about .5% away from a solid A...is this bad??????? Would it have been better if I had gotten solid A's or does it not matter?????

An "A" or an "A-" is all the same on for the UC GPA grading scale. You'll still get a 4 for either an "A" or an "A-", plus a point extra (up to eight) for every Honors/AP class you took during your sophomore/junior year.

A- increases your chances in normal circumstances, so if you asked this question elsewhere you'd not be safe

no it wont affect anything...

as Xcellerator said, for the UCs GPA system, a 90 is the same as a 100. so dont worry about it.

UC's do not give weight to pluses or minuses. An A- will be considered an "A"

You're kidding, right?

I actually looked at your previous posts to see if you were joking...I couldn't decide either way. All I can say is that it seems to me that you are fixated with the UCs, so I really recommend googling UC admissions. That will take you to their website where all of this stuff is written.

ok. and no i am serious.......it just bugs me because i got an A- in everything even basketball and i hope this wouldn't affect my chance of getting in...but i guess the answer is no?

you dont need to worry at all about A-'s

An A is A whether its a 90 or a 100

lololollololololol

wow .. i like how i feel really stupid now! thanks guys! hhaaha

I doubt any college would hold A-'s against you...
