Will an internship at the UN be useful even if I will not major in Political Science?

Hello everyone! :) I'm an high school student and I'm very likely to get an internship at the UN. At the beginning I thought it was amazing but then I started wondering if it will really help my application... I'm planning on majoring in materials science or computer science, and for both it is better to have a STEM-related internship. I'm also planning in minoring in international affairs, and this makes this opportunity very attractive. Should I take it or instead look for something more STEM-related?

Thanks!

the UN does stuff related to STEM fields also, does it not?

Do whatever activity you are most interested in, and I would not worry how a particular activity looks for a particular field of study. While my guess is that having a STEM related activity may look better if you are applying to a STEM field, there are many students out there who have participated in sports, acting, debate, model UN, music, etc., and have still been accepted into STEM majors.
