I'm a junior and I'm going to take the AP English Language and Composition test in May at another high school.

Is anybody else daring like this?

I'm a sophomore and I'm taking AP comp sci AB at another school... since my school doesn't even offer APs.

I'm taking a few AP exams without taking the course. I'm a freshman that attends the same school as Didnotfaillife.

same here, same test, same grade, :) (AP English Lang)

I plan on taking the APUSH test, even though I took AP US Government instead of the APUSH class this year. However, I did have an American History class in 7th grade(ha!) and I took Pre-AP US History in 10th so hopefully that will help a bit...

Ouch. AP U.S. History has one fo the lowest passing rates out of all AP exams. It's very detailed. If you want to take it, make sure you know how to write a DBQ and how to answer an FRQ. Writing is 50% of the exam.

And if you want a review book, I'd recommend Kaplan.

I wouldn't take an AP exam without the class, unless it were in something easy....maybe AP English Language. AP U.S. Government wouldn't be too hard to self-study, but I'm already taking the class.

yepp... ap art history and english language i think

ap english lang. and comp., ap gov't, ap u.s. hist., and ap chem.

My goal is to get at least a 3 on each.

ok i was in your situation.
junior year, and i wasnt taking AP English language because that would have meant i was in all honors/ap and i didnt want to kill myself.

but my english teacher mentioned to me and one other girl that we should consider taking the exam anyway along with the other AP'ers at my school.

it ended up being a pretty sweet deal, we got out of the normal final exam and didnt have to do a major paper because we were "studying for the AP and doing lots of extra work!"

haha we really didnt.
we did one practice essay and two practice mc sections.
i thought the test was pretty hard.
i got a 4, along with most of the other ppl who actually had taken the AP class. as long as you know how to write well and can reason the mc fairly well, im sure youll do fine. its probably the easiest to take without prep.

oh yeah and i took AP world history without taking AP world history class because it wasnt offered at my school...and we didnt cover in class anything before like the 1500s. so basically the weekend before i read an entire Kaplan review book and pulled a 4, writing an essay about the mongols (which i knew NOTHINg about except the name of one city that they revived into a trading center--i totally bs'ed allll of it hahah)
